Welcome to New England Plates.com. License plate collecting has become a hobby of world-wide interest and people often times stumble across number plates and wonder both about their history and level of interest to collectors. From early porcelain plate issues to modern tin and aluminum, all types are worthy of discussion.
My dad spurred my collecting interest over 25 years ago and I’ve never looked back. What started with an interesting plate or two has grown into seeking a variety of not only New England license plates but also researching the earliest New England license plates and who they were registered to.
By creating this site, I hope to help people identify license plates they find both by type and value. As much as my resources will allow, I’m always glad to research plates by state, plate number and year. So people can learn who the registrant was, where they lived and what kind of early automobile they drove. You can imagine how excited I was when I found the 1905 Mass. Automobile Register plate that it was registerd to the gentleman that lived across the street from my house.
I’m always glad to help people to locate a specific year and state of plate they are looking for, or to be a resource for people who are looking to part with plate(s) they have in their possession.
